大卫•乔利

Hornist 大卫•乔利, MSM Orchestral Performance, 经典的角, 室内乐 Faculties, began his studies in his native Los Angeles with James Decker 和 Wendell Hoss. While still a student of James Chambers at 的 Julliard School, from which he holds Bachelor 和 Master of Music Degrees, Mr. Jolley was honored to perform with 的 NY Philharmonic in New York 和 Washington, DC, under Leonard Bernstein.    

大卫•乔利 has thrilled audiences throughout 的 world with his “remarkable virtuosity” (New York Times) 和 has been hailed as “a soloist second to none” (Gramophone Magazine), concertizing extensively in North 和 South America, Europe, South Asia, Korea, Japan.  As Principal Horn 和 founding member of 俄耳甫斯, Mr. Jolley made over two dozen recordings for 的 Deutsche Grammophon label.  His o的r recordings include six solo recordings for 的 阿拉伯式花纹 label, among 的m 的 complete Mozart 和 Strauss Concerti.  

A Chamber Artist of unusual sensitivity 和 range, Mr. Jolley is a member of 的 virtuoso “unquintet”, Windscape, Artist-in-Residence at MSM, acclaimed New York Brass Arts Trio, with Trumpeter Joe Burgstaller 和 Trombonist Haim Avitsur, 三Valtorna, with Ida Kavafian 和 Gilles Vonsattel.  O的r groups with which he has collaborated include 的 Fleisher-Jolley-Tree Trio, with pianist Leon Fleisher 和 Guarnari Quartet member, Michael Tree; 的 Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio, Guarneri, 猎户座 和 American String Quartets; 的 美术三重奏, Musicians from Marlboro; 和 的 室内乐 Society of Lincoln Center.  

Past winner of 的 Concert Artist Guild, Heldenleben, Coleman Competitions, Mr. Jolley was 的 first Hornist chosen to be a touring Affiliate Artist, was 的 recipient of a grant from 的 Martha Baird Rockefeller Foundation. Mr. Jolley’s keen interest in enlarging 的 Solo Horn Repertoire has resulted in 的 composition of many new works for him, including Ellen Taaffe Zwilich’s Concerto (Premiere, New York Carnegie Hall); 《火博体育》的音乐, by John Harbison (Premiere, Lincoln Center Chamber Society, Alice 塔利大厅); George Perle’s Duos for Horn 和 String Quartet (Premiere with 的 猎户座 String Quartet, 塔利大厅). 

Some of 的 many summer festivals in which Mr. Jolley has performed include 的 Marlboro, Sarasota, Chesapeake, Mostly Mozart,  布拉沃! 维尔, Music from Angel Fire Festivals.  He performed 和 taught for many years at Aspen 和 的 Music Academy of 的 West. International festivals at which he has appeared include 的 Kuhmo, Vaasa (芬兰) Dartington大厅 (英格兰), Vi和en (卢森堡)和尼姆斯 (France) Festivals.  

Joining 的 教师 of 的 MSM 教师 in 2011, Mr. Jolley was Chair of Brass from 2014-2017. He also serves on 的 Faculties of Mannes, New School, Stonybrook University. He is Chair of Brass at Queens College Aaron Copl和 School of Music, CUNY. Mr. Jolley has taught Master Classes at numerous institutions, including 的 Juilliard School, 印第安纳州, 耶鲁大学, Northwestern Universities, University of  Wisconsin, Curtis Institute of Music, Clevel和 Institute of Music, Eastman School of Music, 伯恩, New Engl和 Conservatory, 和可能.
